Jennifer Stewart, Managing Partner

Jennifer is a strategic, innovative investor and value-builder and has led JSTAR and affiliates since inception.  She brings a combination of multi-decade experienced institution capital, entrepreneurial and operating leadership perspective to each investment.

 

Jennifer has previously served on nine boards, including previously public FGX International Holdings Limited.

 

She has closed over 20 acquisitions including add-ons, successfully invested approximately $500m of capital and has decades of pattern recognition across many industries.

 

Jennifer also delivered results as CEO and understands firsthand the rewards as well as challenges of leading operating companies.

 

Previously, she was at Bear Stearns Merchant Banking, including being a member of its fundraising team for its inaugural $1.5b private equity institutional fund.

 

Jennifer earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and BS Chemical Engineering, Magna cum Laude and with Honors, from The Pennsylvania State University.  The is also on the board of Math, Engineering and Science Academy (MESA, NYC Charter School and non-profit) and focus her charity service efforts on strengthening the educational fabric of the nation.

Carrie Snyder, Vice President

Carrie is a dedicated, solutions-oriented strategic and analytical business partner who enjoys collaborating with others to optimize best practices across organizations and deliver successful outcomes with a shared sense of purpose.

​

With experience in corporate finance, strategy and investment banking, she has led multiple teams through the execution of many complex transactions and has partnered closely with executive teams to help companies reach their strategic and financing goals and manage relationships with the investment community.

​

She has completed over $15b in mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity financings for public and private companies.

​

Her past financial experience includes investment banking at Salomon Smith Barney (Citigroup Global Markets), JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Wells Fargo Securities, and Equity Research at Pacific Growth Equities.

​

Carrie has an MBA from Georgetown University, a Master of Arts from the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and Bachelors of Arts degrees in Economics and Psychology from the University of California at Davis.

Darrell Morris, Vice President

Darrell Morris is a strategic leader specializing in industrials, manufacturing, technology, and business services sectors.

 

He is able to meticulously assess data and integrate processes for effective change and increased profits.  Darrell champions digital transformation within companies, evaluating technology infrastructure to enhance operational efficiencies and empower employees to make informed decisions swiftly. His commitment to extracting value through strategic technology initiatives underscores his dedication to driving sustainable growth and innovation in every venture.

 

Darrell completed his MBA in 2018 from Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business with a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship.

 

He received dual undergraduate degrees in Finance and Management of Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Houston in 2004. His experience includes management consulting, ERP implementations, and a variety of increasing responsibilities in the midstream organization of a major vertically integrated energy company.

Darrell also spearheaded the acquisition of a prestigious cooking school, driving double digit revenue growth, expanding the workforce, and orchestrating a seamless relocation to a larger facility to support continued success.
